6th Anniversary Commemoration! Messages from the Development Staff

On July 26, 2024 (Fri), Ongeki celebrated its 6th anniversary!

To commemorate the occasion, we’re bringing you messages from the development staff!

<Koha D>

Thanks to the support of all of you and everyone involved,
Ongeki has safely reached its 6th anniversary.

Thank you very much.

Since we somehow managed to make it to another anniversary this year as well, I’d like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to everyone who has supported us.

======================

KADOKAWA

Thank you, as always, for your continued support even as the operational situation changes.

Whenever I see your names in the credits of various anime productions, I’m reminded both of how grateful I am for your support of Ongeki despite how busy you all are, and how proud I am that we’ve been able to work together for such a long time with people who are active on the front lines of the industry.

I know you’re all incredibly busy, but please take care of yourselves, and I hope for your continued support going forward.

======================

hotarubi / Re:STAGE!

Thank you so much for everything — not just the lives and collaborations as our “friends forever,” but even helping with music production as well.

Back in 2018, when you proposed collaborations with three rhythm game titles, I never imagined we’d end up working together this closely and for so long.

There’s still so much more I’d like for us to do together.

I look forward to continuing our relationship.

======================

Enbound / Onsen Musume

Thank you for collaborating with us not only in-game, but in live events as well.

Since there’s quite a bit of overlap between your cast and Ongeki’s, I hope we can continue being involved with each other in good ways going forward too!

======================

WAVE MASTER

Thank you not only for helping us secure licensed songs, but also for supporting our music activities in so many ways — from producing CDs for livestreams and merchandise campaigns, to even holding the 6th live concert.

Next time, let’s do something even bigger and even more emotional.

Let’s keep building up Sega music together!

======================

To all the voice actors

No matter how much the environment changes, thank you for always loving Ongeki.

Seeing some of you tear up at the long-awaited return of live performances, or making special accommodations for various scheduling matters simply because “it’s for Ongeki” — I can only feel immense gratitude for all the love you’ve shown us.

There’s also that thing involving that certain thing (which I absolutely can’t talk about), and I want to do my best to live up to everyone’s passion somehow, so please continue supporting Ongeki.

======================

Everyone at Sega Fave / the marketing team

Thank you for helping make Ongeki thrive together with us — from music activities and tournament organization to day-to-day PR work.

I think the history we’ve built together has become part of the history of Sega rhythm games themselves.

I know your workloads keep growing and things are busy every day, but don’t overdo it — and please keep pushing past your limits!

======================

To all the operations staff

Thank you for continuing to do such incredible work as a small but elite team, even as the development and operational environment changes.

To the staff who came back,
the staff we’re meeting for the first time,
and the staff who’ve stayed with us throughout—

everyone really worked hard.

I’m sure the players can feel all the ingenuity and passion you’ve poured into this work.

======================

And to everyone else involved with license-ins and license-outs, all our partner companies, everyone on the rhythm game teams, and everyone supporting Sega music games — thank you so much.

Since Ongeki closes out the anniversary season for all three titles, I wanted to borrow this opportunity to express my gratitude here as well.

And finally, to all the players: thank you for playing Sega music games.

Please continue playing, supporting, and helping keep the excitement alive!

I hope I’ll be able to share my thanks again at next year’s anniversary too.

<Tagawa D>

I’m Tagawa, the director of Ongeki.

Apparently Ongeki has reached its 6th anniversary! That’s truly something worth celebrating!
And it’s all thanks to everyone who continues to love and support Ongeki.
Once again, thank you so very much.

◆ Looking Back on the Past Year

We’ve wrapped up a year that began with “Natsuyoi Star Mine.”

I feel the biggest accomplishment was being able to deliver the Act.3 mid-scale update to everyone.
At the time of the 5th anniversary, I wrote that we would move forward one steady step at a time, and I believe we truly managed to continue that progress.
This advancement was made possible by everyone’s support and the hard work of the development staff.
There was a lot I personally sacrificed in order to make it happen, so when I got to witness people’s genuine joy firsthand at the KOP5th public viewing, it truly filled my heart.

We were successfully able to hold the “Ongeki’s King Championship” for every unit, and now “Primera Fes.” is currently underway.
We’ve had many illustrators create wonderful Ongeki Shooters for us, and I’m sincerely grateful for that as well.

It was completely beyond our expectations that we would see players reach Player Level 9999, Character Affection Level 9900, and obtain the title “One Who Has Gathered All the Medals in This World.”

Especially regarding affection levels, we honestly assumed nobody would ever hit the cap, which is why at the time we only announced that “affection levels will continue to increase.”
Yes, the current upper limit is 9900. (Should we really extend it so it can keep increasing like we originally announced…?)

And then, the 6th anniversary live concert was officially announced.
In a very happy miscalculation, we received far more ticket applications than we ever anticipated, and I know there were people left disappointed because of that, which pains me deeply.
The entire staff is currently putting everything they have into preparing a live performance worthy of everyone’s expectations.

◆ ONGEKI 6th Anniversary

The song commemorating the 6th anniversary is “Individual on parade!”, which also serves as the live concert title.

This song is finally the realization of the passionate feelings everyone shared with us during the “5th Anniversary Special Campaign.”
I felt there was only one person who could truly bring this song to life, so I personally reached out and requested Watanabe Cher-sensei directly.
As a result, I believe it became a song overflowing with emotion beyond anything we could have hoped for.

Starting today, you can play it in Ongeki, so please give it a try!

Also, the SSR card featuring the 6th anniversary illustration used for the song jacket can be obtained just by logging in, so please be sure to grab that as well.

In addition, the new single, ONGEKI 6th Anniversary CD “Individual on parade!”, which includes both “Individual on parade!” and the Halloween-themed song “Tricky Treat!!!”, released today on July 26th, so please check it out!

And regarding “Icing Dream,” our jointly produced song with Re:STAGE!, I think we’ll be able to share CD information before too long, so please look forward to that as well.

It’s thanks to the cooperation of KADOKAWA and hotarubi (Re:STAGE!) that we’re able to create vocal songs and release CDs for Ongeki in the first place.
We sincerely appreciate your continued support.

◆ The “Future” of Ongeki

Now that Ongeki has entered Act.3, development continues on-site without slowing down that momentum.
Together with new members who have joined the team, as well as members returning after a long absence, we’re aiming for what lies beyond Act.3.

The entire Ongeki team has received and accepted all of the feelings and passion everyone has shared with us.
With that in mind, every single staff member is doing their utmost every day to make as many of those wishes a reality as possible.
There are times when practical limitations make it impossible to meet expectations, and we shed tears of frustration over that.

But I believe that if you continue wishing without giving up, those wishes can still come true, even if the form changes along the way.

The fact that Ongeki, which reached “one stopping point” at its 4th anniversary, has now been able to celebrate its 6th anniversary and continue moving toward its 7th is perhaps the greatest example of that.

Not just the 7th anniversary — I’d love for us to keep going all the way to the 10th anniversary at this rate!

Over the next year, I promise that we’ll deliver something even greater than Act.3 to everyone.

And for that, we humbly ask for your continued support going forward as well.

I hope we can continue creating music together with all of you going forward.

can go to the next stage!!
